How long has AVM Wisconsin existed?

AVM Wisconsin was formed in 2008 when the International Conference on Volunteer
Administration (ICVA) and the Association of Volunteer Administration (AVA) merged to form one association.

What does it cost to become a member?

It costs $25 to become an individual member. There are three forms of organization
memberships:

  • One – Three Members: $50
  • Four – Seven Members: $125
  • Eight+ Members: $500

All organization members receive logo recognition on our website and an add in our
conference folder (size dependent upon level). An individual/organization can join at any time. All memberships are good for a 12-month period.

Is AVM Wisconsin a nonprofit organization?

AVM Wisconsin is designated as a charitable organization.

What geographic area does AVM Wisconsin serve?

AVM Wisconsin serves all who engage volunteers in southeastern Wisconsin. Members
come from Sheboygan County to the north, Kenosha County to the south and Waukesha
County to the west. Most members are from Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties.

Is AVM Wisconsin only for volunteer coordinators/managers?

While our association did begin serving only volunteer coordinators/managers, we now
include professionals from all areas (E.g., Human Resources, Program, Management) and all staff who engage volunteers.

How many members does AVM Wisconsin have?

The number of AVM Wisconsin members varies from year to year. On average, there are
usually 60 – 70 individual and organization members.

Is AVM Wisconsin an affiliate member of a statewide association?

AVM Wisconsin is an dues-paying affiliate member of the Wisconsin Volunteer Coordinators Association (WVCA). Visit www.wvca.org to learn more.

Tell me more about AVM Wisconsin programming.

AVM Wisconsin conducts quarterly member meeting/workshops on Thursdays in January, March, May and July from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The site alternates between Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. The Fall Conference is traditionally held in September, and the Annual Meeting in November. AVM Wisconsin now hosts Coffee & Connection events for both members and not-yet-members to network.
